Christmas 2022: Kid’s Gift + Stocking Stuffer Ideas

It’s that time again… Christmas shopping for four children (aged 4 to 10) who don’t usually ask for anything specifically. While that sounds nice, it actually makes it really difficult to make decisions about what to get when it comes to Christmas gifts. In the past, I’ve stuck to the “something you want, something you need, something to wear, something to read” guidelines. Last year they got several practical items. This year, everyone got clothing and shoes a month or more ago because of our change in location (read: colder) and growth spurts. We are also living with family now, and I really don’t want to bring too much more into the house. That (unfortunately) includes books.

You can view lots of these in my Amazon Storefront – Kids’ Christmas 2022 List!

Headphones: My older two have their own headphones already, so I decided because of the other gift shown here (YOTO Player Mini), that they each could use their own.

YOTO Mini: Last year I won a full-size YOTO Player and I was so excited! It has been an item in our home that gets daily use. With four children, it’s gotten difficult to share it. Not that they can’t learn, but I have plans for initiating a daily quiet hour, and this little baby will help my 4-and-6-year-olds immensely! He is also getting the case pictured.

YOTO Cards: To go with his YOTO Mini, I selected the following cards: Songs Across the Pond, Traditional Songs by Caspar Babypants, and the Frog and Toad Audio Collection.

Little Blue Truck Makes a Friend: I did get a book here, but for good reason. A complete collection. ha! We own all the other ones.

Bluey Character Set: We are all obsessed with Bluey, so this just makes sense. I’m sure there will be lots of sharing of this set amongst the youngest three.

Headphones: As mentioned above, my older two have their own headphones already, so I decided because of the other gift shown here (YOTO Player Mini), that they each could use their own.

YOTO Mini: Also as mentioned above, my six-year-old is getting her own YOTO Mini too! She is also getting the case pictured.

YOTO Cards: To go with her YOTO Mini, I selected the following cards: Natalie Portman’s Fables and YOTO Christmas Party.

Chelsea Barbie Dolls: My girls both asked for “smaller” Barbie dolls. I don’t love having a bunch of dolls and accessories to clean up, but they really do enjoy playing with them.

Unicorn Slippers: This was a gift that was very specifically asked for. I thought these were super cute!

Nutcracker Ballet: I am super excited to take my girls to see their first Nutcracker Ballet! I haven’t been since I was a child. I’m looking forward to surprising them!

Slippers: I was asked expressly for a pair of slippers by my eight-year-old, so I had to get her some! ha.

Embroidery Kit: I thought this kit would be a great starter kit for my eight-year-old! I’m looking forward to seeing her give it a try!

YOTO Cards: In growing our overall YOTO card collection, I selected the following cards for her: Heidi and The Secret Garden.

Chelsea Barbie Dolls: My girls both asked for “smaller” Barbie dolls. I don’t love having a bunch of dolls and accessories to clean up, but they really do enjoy playing with them. In addition to what I got for my 6-year-old to open, I selected two more and a couple Barbie babies for my eight-year-old to open.

Nutcracker Ballet: I am super excited to take my girls to see their first Nutcracker Ballet! I haven’t been since I was a child. I’m looking forward to surprising them!

Custom T-Shirts: My son enjoys playing a historical campaign strategy game called Age of Empires, which he plays on a computer with his dad, aunt, and uncle. They have the best time! He had some custom shirts before that he has since grown out of. It was time for an upgrade! Option 1 | Option 2

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: This is the next book in the series that my son is chomping at the bit to read. I actually got a used copy from Better World Books, but the version the link takes you to is a beautiful option!

YOTO Cards: In growing our overall YOTO card collection, I selected the following cards for him: Peter Pan and Tales from the Greek Legends.

Ukulele: Our oldest has expressed interest in learning to play the guiter. I already own a guitar that is small enough for him to learn on. However, I thought it would be nice to get him a much more manageable instrument to begin learning on. Plus, I just really love the sound of the ukulele! Not pictured: a beginner’s ukulele book!

Live Sporting Event: Whether it be soccer, hockey, basketball, baseball, or football… we plan to treat him to a live sporting event in the near future.

No Stress Chess: Three of my children have loved learning how to play chess, and embarrassingly I don’t even know how to play myself! I got a great recommendation from Jessica at The Waldock Way to give this game a try! She has great game-schooling content on her website and her YouTube Channel of the same name.

YOTO Card Case: We’ve had a good storage solution up until this point for all of our YOTO cards, but it is being outgrown and it’s hard to find the card you want since it’s all in a stack. This will make it easier to find what they are looking for!

YOTO Adventure Case: I regret that I did not purchase a case for our existing full-size YOTO player up until this point, because it has taken some hits over the last year. To keep it from getting any more dinged up, I grabbed an Adventure Case!

Experience Gift: We are going to begin saving for a future larger experience to gift our children. Something along the lines of an amusement park (which I actually do not personally enjoy, ha) or a once-in-a-lifetime trip! Stay tuned!

Lastly, in regard to stocking stuffers, our kids usually get some more practical items like toothbrushes and toothpaste along with candy… because that makes complete sense. ha! This year, I decided to get them each a couple smaller LEGO sets (I found them all on Target.com) and a couple packs of candy each. (Candy to be procured.) Last year as their larger gift, they each got a Walker Goods States Duffel Bag in a different color. This year they will get a shoulder strap to go with it!

LEGO City Chicken Henhouse | LEGO City Farm Garden & Scarecrow | LEGO Creator 3-in-1 Fantasy Forest Creatures | LEGO Creator Winter Holiday Train | LEGO BrickHeadz Star Wars The Mandalorian & The Child | LEGO Harry Potter Build Your Own Hogwarts Castle | LEGO Creator 3-in-1 Dolphin and Turtle | LEGO Creator Santa Claus

I hope that you all have a beautiful Christmas season with your families. May the time you spend together be treasured, and your New Year be one of hope and revival!
